About Us

Pee Dee Mental Health Center has been serving the Pee Dee area for more than forty years. During this time, we have witnessed many changes in the delivery of services to those suffering from mental and emotional problems. Pee Dee Mental Health has been a part of those changes. We continue to strive as we have in the years past, to be on the cutting edge in the delivery of quality mental health services. As an organization, we strive to do this efficientlyeffectively and safely through access and services.

Mission Statement

Pee Dee Mental Health Center’s  mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses of Darlington, Florence, and Marion Counties.

Pee Dee Mental Health Center will be a Premier Provider of Behavioral Health Care in the Pee Dee:

  • Providing accessible, comprehensive, and effective services for behavioral health care needs, and adapting to changes in health care.

Pee Dee Mental Health is an NHSC-approved site where primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and mental health professionals who are eligible for loan repayment funding or have received scholarships can fulfill their service obligation.

College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007

Through the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, Congress created the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program to encourage individuals to enter and continue to work full-time in public service jobs.

Pee Dee Mental Health Center is CARF Accredited. Providers that meet CARF’s rigorous standards have demonstrated their commitment to being among the best available.

As A National  Health Service Corps site,  we promise to serve all patients, offer discounted fees for patients who qualify, and not deny services based on a person’s race, color, sex, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or ability to pay. The Center accepts several insurances, including Medicaid, Medicare and SC Healthy Connections for Children. No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay; and there is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.
