Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center

Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center serve Allendale, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper Counties and offer a wide variety of services for children, adolescents, adults, and families. We are committed to offering the highest quality of treatment that is proven to produce positive results.

The priority populations that we serve are:

  • adults with serious and persistent mental illness
  • adults with major, acute psychiatric concerns
  • children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance

The men and women of the Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center, in partnership with patients, families and their diverse communities, will support the recovery citizens with mental illness.

Strategic Vision

Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center will give priority to adults and children with serious mental illnesses and serious emotional disturbances and will fulfill its legislative mandates. We will work cooperatively with other agencies, both public and private, to assure continuity of services based on the needs of the individual.

Respect for the Individual – We believe that the people we serve have the right to personal dignity, respect and the highest possible degree of independence. We are committed to services that promote the individual’s quality of life, focus on the individual’s strengths, foster independence, and honor the rights, wishes and needs of the individual.

Support for Local Care – We believe that people are best served within their home community. We are committed to the availability of a full and flexible range of coordinated services with the community as the primary focus of care, and services that appropriately meet the needs of the individual in the most normal environment possible. We are committed to programs which build upon the local support provided by family, friends, other agencies and the community, and which offer employment, leisure, learning, residential and psychiatric/rehabilitation services within this supportive framework.

Patient Advisory Board–  CECMHC is guided by the feedback and needs that are identified by our community. We strive to provide quality care to our community that uniquely responds to their needs. Towards providing that care we have established a patient advisory board that is constituted by active patient’s of CECMHC that meets quarterly and discusses our processes and services.

(limited evening hours at some locations)

Closed During Holidays

As a National Health Service Corp site, we promise to serve all patients, offer discounted fees for patients who qualify, and not deny services based on a person’s race, color, sex, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or ability to pay.  The Center accepts several insurances, including Medicaid, Medicare, and SC Healthy Connections for Children.  No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay; and there is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.
