We provide services based on the BHDD Office of Mental Health’s mission statement which gives priority of treatment to adults with severe and persistent mental illness, children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and their families, and persons experiencing psychiatric emergencies.
To access services, Richland County adults should call 803-898-8888 or visit our Emergency Services unit for an assessment. For children and adolescent services in Richland County, call our Child, Adolescent & Family unit at 803-898-4777; you will be mailed an intake questionnaire to complete and send back. After we receive the completed form, someone will call you to schedule an appointment for an assessment. Fairfield County residents should call 803-898-8888 or visit the Fairfield Clinic for an assessment.
The assessment by a Mental Health Professional determines if our services are appropriate for you. More than one contact may be needed to determine if you meet our eligibility criteria. We may require a urine drug screen to assist in the assessment process. If we determine you would be best served by another organization, you will be referred there.
For after hours emergencies call 833-364-2274.
It is the philosophy of CAHMC that services will be provided in an environment that is accessible to patients and stakeholders regardless of race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or socioeconomic status (to include inability to pay and/or whether payment for services would be made under any payor source.)
Fees for services are set by the BHDD Office of Mental Health. Payment (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, cash, check, Visa or MasterCard) is expected at the time of services. Some clients may be eligible for reduced fees based on their financial status.
CAMHC will never turn you away for services. Please know that CAMHC is not in network with all insurance companies. You may want to check with your insurance to see if your insurance has a participating provider in your area.
For billing questions, call 803-898-4880.
