Our mission is to support the recovery and aid in improving the quality of life of citizens in Orangeburg, Calhoun and Bamberg counties who are experiencing mental illness or emotion disturbances.

Message from the Center Director

The Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center is a “Center of Excellence” that provides services to the citizens of Orangeburg, Calhoun, and Bamberg Counties. We offer a full array of services that includes but is not limited to: Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, Multifamily-Family Group Therapy, Mental Health Assessment, Medication Monitoring and Psychiatric Medical Assessment. Our team strives to support the overall wellbeing of the residents of our community. We are dedicated in providing the services needed to support the recovery and success of people with mental illness.

We strive to uphold our mission, “to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses.” This philosophy is intertwined in the provision of services daily. We endeavor to provide a level of service that meets the needs of each person on an individual basis. All Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) Office of Mental Health facilities, including OAMHC, are licensed or accredited. OAMHC is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
