Waccamaw Center for Mental Health is one of the 16 mental health centers in the State of South Carolina. We are an outpatient facility providing comprehensive services in Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg Counties. Each county in the center offers an array of mental health services for its residents. Services include crisis intervention, individual, family and group therapy, psychiatric medication assessment, medication monitoring and case management. We have a Mobile Crisis Team that provides 24-hour assistance to people in self-identified crises in Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg Counties. The Center’s commitment to the legacy of community collaboration continues with ongoing partnerships with both public and private partners. The Center maintains its’ “core” services in the face of a rapidly changing healthcare environment. Under the guidance of the Advisory Board and SCDMH, the commitment of the staff to carry out the mission of the Center to serve persons in need of mental health care remains strong. The pages of this annual report will present more detailed information of the various services and specialized programs provided by Waccamaw Center for Mental Health Center. Hopefully this report will convey the spirit of service, dedication, and loyalty of the staff to provide the highest quality of care to those whom we are privileged to serve.
